Getting Ready For Appalachia!

by Mike on Apr.04, 2008, under Project Appalachia

The annual, culminating Project Appalachia is just around the corner!

If those of you who don’t know what Project Appalachia is, allow me to explain. The SITES (Social Involvement Through Education and Service) program at NOHS participates and holds many events throughout the year. Each event, such as SeniorFest, is designed to show the concepts that we learn in class through real-world examples. Project Appalachia is the culminating event that all SITES students participate in. Each of the two classes (AM and PM) go to a different area in southern Ohio. My class’s trip (the AM class) happens to be this Sunday until Wednesday. While down in Marietta, we will be performing a wide variety of services projects and having some fun too.

Although I won’t have access to a computer while we are there, I will be sure to post another entry about my experiences, and I will also have links to the pictures for you to check out!

I can’t wait! :)
